For the last six years, SOAK has presented a cascade of different performances and training opportunities every spring. This year, for the first time, we are holding an open call for works so as to connect with and support new, talented artists.
Criteria for selection and context
SOAK is a presenting series of various performances and training in theater, butoh, dance, music, and performance art. SOAK seeks to broaden the perceptions of our artists and audiences with work that is experimental, rigorous, and thought-provoking. The festival showcases works by international, local, and fellow artists; and blends them together in a melange that inspires audiences, invigorates artists, and stimulates the community surrounding LEIMAY’s activities.
LEIMAY has hosted the SOAK successfully over the last six years. SOAK 2018 will take place during one week in June (exact dates to be announced soon). This year, we are hosting a open call to connect and support a new batch of talented artists; bringing in fresh perspectives and creative ideas to the community.
